Quick Layers – a fast layer management palette in Archicad.
In addition to the standard Layer Settings dialog (Options > Element Attributes > Layers), you may not know that Archicad also provides Quick Layers, which allows you to quickly change layer states (such as show/hide, lock/unlock, etc.) during the working process without opening the Layer Settings dialog.
To open the Quick Layers palette, go to:
Window > Palettes > Quick Layers
| See more: Getting Started Archicad Interface
Select the elements whose layer states you want to modify, then click the corresponding buttons on the Quick Layers palette.
Quick Layers buttons, from left to right:

Example: Using Quick Layers in Archicad
Suppose you want to edit wall elements in the Floor Plan view.

You don’t want unrelated elements—such as sections, elevations, or furniture—to be displayed. To temporarily hide them, select those elements first.

…then click Hide Selection’s Layers.

Now, all unnecessary elements are hidden, and only the walls you need to edit are visible.

After finishing the wall edits, if you want to show the hidden elements again, click Undo Quick Layers Action.
All previously hidden elements will become visible again.

If you want to hide those elements once more, simply click Redo Quick Layers Action, and they will be hidden again.

The same workflow applies to other actions such as locking and unlocking layers.
